''We are not amused !''Outside the Essex House on Central Park South, a restricted symposium sponsored by the business rag Crain's was the setting for a reunion of the Billionaires For Wealthcare. The callous and greedy Billionaires For Wealthcare demonstrated in support of the billionaire Rudin real estate dynasty, who are converting the real estate formerly serving as a 501(c)(3) non-profit hospital into an "exclusive" and massive luxury condo and townhouse complex. The Rudin family issued a statement, saying, in part, that "Taxpayer money needs to be used to support billionaires. We need more government money for a Wealthcare Bailout Fund to help prevent insolvent billionaires from having to downsize from drinking Champagne to California sparkling wine."

New York City Speaker Christine Quinn would keep mayoral control over schools.
Speaker Quinn told parents that she thinks that mayor's absolute powers should be preserved, so that when Mayor Bloomber helps her to defeat all her Democratic Party rivals in the primary elections, she could keep that power for her own discretionary use.

Are you waiting for Christine Quinn to say, "I am not a crook ?"
If you are asking yourself this question, then you haven't been paying attention to how New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn has engaged in a quid-pro-quo (or "pay to play") deal with the Rudin Family over the luxury condo development rights to St. Vincent's Hospital. If you follow the campaign donation money, then you'll see how Speaker Quinn is a crook for taking $30,000 in exchange for approving the Rudin Family's luxury condo conversion plan.

Titanic Candlelight Vigil for St. Vincent's Hospital
Public Event · By Hands off St. Vincent's
Saturday, April 14, 2012
7:30pm until 8:30pm
Bring candles. When the Titanic sank, Sister Miriam Kevin Phillips said, the Sisters of Charity wired the rescue ship, the Carpathia, that St. Vincent’s ambulances would be waiting at the dock, but would take only passengers from steerage. They knew, she said, that the rich passengers would be taken care of. Let's pay respect to the hospital, which provided emergency and life-saving medical care to the 99%.

Manufactured 911 Emergency Response Times
Following damning revelations that the Bloomberg administration may be deliberately manipulating the EMS response and transit times in official FDNY statistics, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn remains silent about the growing scandal over the way that City Budget that Speaker Quinn puts together year after year has squandered $2 billion in a broken Unified Call Taker-911 Dispatch and Emergency Call System. With so many hospital closings, how are EMS response and transit times being impacted ? Why can't the public know what the official EMS statistics are ?
