City Council Speaker Christine Quinn parties with Alfred E. Smith IV, the former chairman of St. Vincent's Hospital, which was run into the ground by gross mismanagement by its former board of directors.
Alfred E. Smith IV, the great-grandson of the late Alfred Emanuel Smith, a legendary former governor of New York State, was the Master of Ceremonies of the October 20, 2011 dinner, where City Council Speaker Christine Quinn was photographed at the center of the top row, above. Mr. Smith IV was chairman of St. Vincent's Hospital, when Mr. Smith IV voted to close St. Vincent's Hospital, so it could be sold to William Rudin for pennies on the dollar, so that Mr. Rudin could make more hundreds of millions of dollars, because Mr. Rudin wasn't high enough on the Forbes list. Even back, before St. Vincent's Hospital had closed, Speaker Quinn was calling for an urgent care center to replace St. Vincent's. Meanwhile, to make sure that Speaker Quinn would go along with the flow, the Rudin Family love to pay-to-play : they made sure to donate $30,000 to Speaker Quinn's over-flowing campaign war chest. Does anybody else see a conflict of interest in all this ?
