The Gothamist has reported that street vendors in Chinatown were offering to sell perishable, unrefrigerated fish at "bargain prices" in the wake of the power outage following the destruction from Hurricane Sandy. According to Christopher Robbins, Jonathan Maimon wrote an e-mail report indicating that he saw a fish "weighing roughly 20 pounds and spanning 3 feet from head to tail go to a buyer for $1 dollar. $1 dollar!!!!!"

When will Bloomberg-Quinn help the small businesses and the residents, who are suffering without power ? Who would buy a 20 lb. fish that has been unrefrigerated for over 24 hours for $1 ? How desperate for food must these people be ?
